JAGUAR MK II 3.4, 1961
This MkII 3.4 is an original RHD, UK supplied example which was first registered on 1st November 1961 in Wimbledon, SW London. It was registered as “5520 LJ” and this registration mark is still on the car to this day. The car also retains its original engine and is finished in its original colour scheme of Gunmetal with red interior trim.
Ordered new with the rare and desirable option of power steering, the original specification also included wire wheels and four speed with overdrive manual transmission.
Over the last four years, the car has been the subject of extensive restoration, at not inconsiderable expense. For example, the body was stripped, restored and refinished by none other than Jaguar themselves. The invoice from Jaguar Heritage for this work alone, carried out in 2016, amounts to some £27,000.
The description ‘concours’ gets bandied around far too much these days, so I am not going to use it, however the car is without question one of the finest available anywhere.
£ 44,800
The car presently enjoys tax free passage within the EU and is supplied with a UK registration document.
